Mill
We built a mill to help tackle malnutrition at a significantly lower cost, especially among young children, pregnant women and other vulnerable groups.
As well as producing flour, the building stores food after it is harvested. The food is released during the following months as prices rise, helping to stabilize local food prices and support our activities.
The local community relies heavily on the mill. It significantly reduces the distance and costs when people travel to grind their cereals.
The machines were assembled with locally acquired parts by a Ugandan engineer who can repair them. Likewise, the milling house was constructed by local builders.
