Job Description

Performs basic administrative and clerical duties as it pertains to the job. Handles client relations by being a point of first contact via email or telephone and a physical face to the organization.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates service knowledge as required

Job Description

Buwanga Way to Health Foundation is seeking to recruit a professional and experienced individual to fill the position of a Security Officer, within its security structure under the Administration Department. This is a specialized position that requires an individual with a past progressive career and experience and well conversant with security issues in our country or from reputable private security organizations.

Main Purpose of the Position

The holder will be responsible for ensuring safety and security of organization assets, premises, clients and staff, including regular monitoring & managing of surveillance equipment, spot checks and permitting entry & exit of items and individuals in and out of the premises.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular security and business risk audits and facilitate implementation of corrective actions to address potential security risks.
  • Receive, verify asset movement and duly authorize transfer/movement of assets within and out of organization premises.
  • Regularly monitor the functionality of security equipment such as CCTV, alarm systems and promptly report any security incidents to management and provide probable solutions.
  • Research, develop and recommend strategic interventions for security operations with the aim of improving the organization’s security.
  • Assist in conducting investigations into fraud and other crimes committed or about to be committed on the organization premises and recommending courses of action to management.
  • Regularly issue security advisories to staff and clients about imminent security threats/fraudulent activities and guide them on the appropriate countermeasures through circulars and sensitizations.
  • Participate in designing, implementation of review of security management processes and policies at all levels of the organization.
  • Work closely with relevant security organs outside the organization on matters of security, crime prevention and investigation.

Qualifications

The successful applicant must possess the following qualifications:

  • A minimum of a certificate in business, technology or any relevant discipline.
  • A minimum experience of at least 3 years progressive career and experience in security issues.
  • Computer skills.
  • Ability to exhibit business behaviours; Crime surveillance, dealing with uncertainty & emergencies, attention to detail, high emotional intelligence, integrity, safety and risk management.
